She then was tapped by the 1199 Hospital Union, the biggest union for hospital workers in the US, and The City College of New York/Continuing and Professional Studies department to train in its allied health courses.
MedStar is an approved training provider of the American Academy of Professional Coder and TESDA, Philippines, to launch the AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) in the Philippines.
In 2022, together with TESDA, the Health Information Management Association of the Philippines (HIMAP), of which MedStar PHIM is an active member, answers the call of the overall national strategy for talent development by searching for training service providers (TSP) like MedStar to roll out the training in medical coding through the TESDA’S. Only 2 out of 5 leading TSP has been chosen to conduct the training in the Philippines, and MedStar PHIM, which is based in Negros Occidental, has been selected.
In 2017, she brought the curriculum to the Province of Negros Occidental to roll out training on Certified Medical Billing and Coding (CBCS) and Certified Professional Coder (CPC-AAPC) under a “Train for Work Scholarship” project through the Negros Occidental Learning Information and Technology Center.
